Actions on RHEL 7 Machine
To migrate to the RHEL 8 and 9, follow the below preparatory steps in RHEL 7 machine:
-
Upgrade RPM using the below command:
rpm -U csi-7.6.1.29-0.el7.x86_64.php7.rpm -
Create admin migration user using the below command:
GRANT ALL PRIVILEGES ON *.* TO 'mig_admin'@'%' IDENTIFIED BY 'MIG_ADMIN' WITH GRANT OPTION;FLUSH PRIVILEGES; -
Stop the services using the below commands:
systemctl stop scandaemonsystemctl stop sgdaemonsystemctl stop haproxy -
Connect to the database and truncate nsi_result table from all the private databases for fast completion:
TRUNCATE ca_ <custid>.nsi_result;(delete from all partitions).TRUNCATE ca.scan_queue;(Ideally no entries, when scan is not pending) -
Check for enough disk space, tmp space, free RAM before proceeding.
-
Make sure that Apache service is running in both the servers.
noteIf upgrading RPM on RHEL7 is not possible, run
installationProcess.shon the RHEL8 box after the database migration completes.
